Lives & works in Upland, CA
Castillo is a self-taught artist based in California, known for his distinctive pencil work and his published, nominated pieces. His art merges the precision of realism with the fluidity of abstract forms, often incorporating his signature “Mandel twist”—an intricate layer of complexity that sets his compositions apart. His ability to weave narrative elements into his imagery lends his work a deeply personal and emotional resonance.
Beyond his pencil art, Castillo creates interactive artworks using acrylics, UV, and fluorescent paints, transforming each piece into an immersive, multi-sensory experience. He also designs and handcrafts custom frames, expanding the artistic impact of his work through his skills as a woodworker and designer.
Castillo’s work has been featured in multiple magazines, and he is known for giving back to communities and children through art, using creativity as a tool for empowerment and inspiration.
He is also the founder of Serenity Coalition, further demonstrating his dedication to fostering connection, support, and creativity within the community
